CSE-IT TRAINING
The CSE-IT is a validated, trauma informed screening tool developed by WestCoast Children’s Clinic to improve early identification of trafficked youth. Every organization that participates in training must have a User Agreement with WestCoast before they can attend a training.
CSE-IT TRAINING
Anyone using the CSE-IT must complete WestCoast’s training, delivered by WestCoast or by a certified Train the Trainer (T3) trainer at your organization. Each version of the CSE-IT has its own User and T3 training. WestCoast is currently in the process of developing the LT CSE-IT that will include both labor and sex trafficking scores (reach out for more information about our pilot and validation process - screening@westcoastcc.org)
USER TRAINING
The CSE-IT training highlights the importance of early identification and presents the CSE-IT as a method of screening and identifying commercially sexually exploited youth. It addresses the impact of trauma, implementing trauma informed care, and engagement strategies for working with sexually exploited youth. It connects the structure and philosophy of the tool, explains scoring, and uses practice vignettes ensuring staff leave ready to screen using the CSE-IT.
User Training can take place live on zoom or in-person (additional fees apply) or as a self-paced course. Please reach out for more information on pricing for your organization.
TRAIN THE TRAINER (T3) CERTIFICATION TRAINING
WestCoast Children's Clinic offers a Train-the-Trainer (T3) certification for users that have been using the CSE-IT for at least 6 months (some exceptions apply). Each version of the CSE-IT has its own user and T3 training. To be Train-the-Trainer (T3) certified:

Participate in the full day T3 training, 6.5 hours long

Score 2 vignettes accurately

Pass a concepts quiz

Sign a Trainer Agreement
Please note some certification requirements happen outside of the allotted training time.
