CSEC Training at WestCoast Children’s Clinic

If you work with or care for children that may be vulnerable to commercial sexual exploitation/human trafficking, this training is for you. In partnership with the California Department of Social Services, WestCoast Children’s Clinic provides free training to California-based caregivers and service providers. Both the Caregiver CSEC training and the CSEC 102 Advanced training are live, virtual 16-hour trainings that take place over 4 days. In addition to these two trainings, attendees also have access to monthly Learning Communities with our training team to continue the conversations and learnings after the initial training is complete. Register below and keep scrolling for both CSEC 102 and Advanced Caregiver Training.

CSEC 102 Training

The CSEC 102 training provides an advanced and comprehensive curriculum on best practices for serving youth that are commercially sexually exploited. This CDSS sponsored training is free to all California based providers in any setting – child welfare, juvenile justice, healthcare, social work, education, and more.

*PLEASE NOTE*: Register for all four days for your region at once. If these dates do not work for you, keep an eye out for emails with additional dates for each region. Each series prioritizes specific regions, but we welcome providers from other regions if there is room in the training. Reach out to csectraining@westcoastcc.org for more information.

Advanced Caregiver Training

This 16-hour training series is a comprehensive course that addresses how to recognize and respond to youth in your care that are commercially sexually exploited.

We will build on the skills and concepts learned in previous introduction to commercial sexual exploitation trainings. Caregivers will learn strategies to recognize signs of trafficking, respond to them, and gain support from caregivers going through similar experiences. Additionally, you will connect with survivors with lived experience both in the training and in our optional, monthly Learning Communities. Our Learning Communities are open to caregivers that have completed the training series.

*Please note: all types of caregivers are welcome! Parents, foster parents, relatives, friends of the family, providers acting in a caregiver role and more!
