WestCoast Children’s Clinic is currently seeking a highly inventive, organized and detail oriented Recruitment and Retention Specialist to join our dynamic HR team. This high-contact, high-visibility role demands a client focused and solutions oriented person with confidence in taking on the full scope of a recruitment cycle. The position will serve as consultant to Programs and Admin Departments on staffing needs, including conducting real-time gap analysis of work processes and leveraging existing talent with future needs. Must understand the regulatory basics of staffing and recruitment with a general knowledge of organizational structure, job definition, reporting relationships, and overall job “fit”.
General job duties include daily search, recruitment, screening and support of interview and selection processes; strategic consultation with HR Director, HR partners, administrative and program management staff on recruitment processes and systems in use; creative consultation for ongoing process improvement of recruitment. Must be comfortable implementing different outreach and screening strategies, including candidate sourcing and cold calling. Requires guru-level organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple details simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex work environment. Success in this role will rely heavily on your ability to build and develop connections with candidates and staff, while also keeping on track with hiring and staffing goals. Quick thinking, expert gear-shifting and strong discretion with interpersonal communication skills a must.
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
Position involves data entry, wordsmithing, email, general HR database management, clerical and admin duties. The main ingredient for the ideal candidate is adaptability with a willingness to take risks and develop your own solutions. Other requirements: Minimum 3 years experience working in Human Resources, with at least learn one year cumulative experience in a recruitment/hiring role; Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; Awareness, understanding and openness to issues of race, power and privilege and how these play out in the recruitment and selection process; Intermediate analytical and critical thinking skills; Ability to effectively partner and influence change at the staff level; Knowledge of legal requirements associated with recruitment and staffing in CA and City of Oakland; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field highly preferred.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position reporting to the Director of Human Resources. Competitive pay commensurate with experience includes base salary plus performance based comp, comprehensive benefits package and 403(b) plan.
