What you should know before calling:
Our intakes take place over-the-phone and last between 15-30 minutes. An intake clinician will gather information about current problems, past history, and what services are requested. Your request will be reviewed for assignment to a clinician. The average length of time between your intake interview and your first appointment is up to two weeks.

Alameda County Medi-Cal clients:
WestCoast accepts patients with full-scope Alameda County Medi-Cal only. (Full-scope Medi-Cal refers to Medi-Cal without a share of cost or other insurance coverage.) At the time of intake, we will perform a Medi-Cal eligibility check based to determine if you are eligible for services at WCC. If you are not eligible for services through Medi-Cal, you may elect to pay for your services at your expense (private pay), or we can refer you back to Alameda County ACCESS behavioral health at 1-800-491-9099.

Contra Costa Medi-Cal clients:
WestCoast accepts patients with active Contra Costa Mental Health Plan coverage. (Please note, this is different from the Contra Costa Health Plan. We are currently not a Contra Costa Health Plan provider.) For services at WCC, you will need to first contact Contra Costa Mental Health Plan Care Management Authorization at 1-888-678-7277 to request an authorization for services at WCC. You will receive an authorization number, typically beginning with A-xxxxx and the date effective. We cannot complete an intake without this authorization number.

San Francisco Mental Health Plan Clients:
Please contact your assigned social worker or county contact to request that they make a referral on your behalf to San Francisco Mental Health who will then authorize services to WestCoast. We cannot accept SFMHP clients without prior authorization.
